Texas Driver's License

Moving to a new area is definitely overwhelming and the small details are often overlooked. One of these is obtaining your Texas driver's license. If you are new to Texas you must you are required to obtain a Texas license within 30 days. You must have your vehicle registration and proof of insurance to obtain your license. Full-time college students and military members may continue to use licenses from their home states.

Fees- Basic licenses cost $24 and are good for 6 years. A motorcycle license is $15.
Renewals are also $24 for a basic license and just $8 for a motorcycle license. Commercial licenses are $60, and duplicate licenses or change-of-address each cost $10.
